Psychology and Psychophysiology
Understanding the brain’s response can be a question of psychology.
We understand psychophysiology is crucial to helping us understand cognitive processes including attention, memory and judgment. That’s why we offer psychology psychophysiology courses at Swinburne.
Our psychophysiology courses are an opportunity to explore the intersection of psychology with cognitive and behavioural neurosciences. We provide an understanding of the physiological processes relevant to psychology. These include neurophysiology, physiological responses to sleep and brain disorders. You’ll also examine the biological recording technology related to the study of cognition and behaviour. Developing analytical and research skills is also a strong component of this course.
By the time you graduate, you’ll have the confidence and skills to apply your knowledge to the workplace. Future careers can be found in hospitals, universities and research institutes.

Access Swinburne's neuroimaging facility
Situated in the Advanced Technologies Centre, Swinburne researchers have access to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetoencephalography (MEG) machines among other state-of-the-art neuroimaging equipment and capabilities.
