Biomedical
Understand how the human body works and the application of medical imaging in detecting disease.
We believe uncovering the solutions to today’s health problems begins with science. That’s why we offer biomedical courses at Swinburne.
A biomedical science degree allows you to delve into studies in biology, medicine, disease, chemistry and physiology. You’ll learn how to analyse and interpret biomedical and scientific data, and discover what makes humans healthy.
A biomedical degree provides the opportunity to gain a solid foundation in science through the study of human anatomy, physiology, microbiology and biochemistry. You’ll also explore the modern technology and instrumentation used in critical care and monitoring environments, including clinical areas and research laboratories.
Biomedical students have access to laboratories and testing facilities equipped with the latest technology. Swinburne is the only university in Australia with MRI and MEG labs on campus.
Career opportunities
Future careers may be found in laboratories and other health, medical and science-based environments.
