VCAL, VCE and alternative entry courses
An alternative learning environment is all it takes for some students to flourish. That’s why we offer VCAL and VCE courses and the Alternative Tertiary Entry Program (ATEP), which give secondary students options and provide a strong focus on practical learning. You’ll benefit from a supportive learning environment where your personal development is a priority.
The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) provides vocational education through applied learning principles. You will focus on the five key areas of literacy, numeracy, work-related skills, personal development skills and industry skills. Each area is made up of VET, VCAL and/or VCE-accredited modules to prepare you for the next step.
Swinburne’s VCE Connect offers the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) qualification for students seeking an alternative experience with individualised choices. You’ll benefit from an engaging learning environment and all the latest technology Swinburne has to offer. Upon completion, you’ll be ready to pathway through Swinburne into further vocational or university education, or seek employment.
The Alternative Tertiary Entry Program gives Year 12 students the chance to gain entry to a Swinburne degree or UniLink program without an ATAR. Ideal for students who are already independent learners, you will choose between project and curriculum streams with the view to pathway into a Swinburne course.
